Frequently Asked Questions

Is the curriculum just Spanish, or academics too?
Both. Spanish is the language of instruction, and children learn a full early-childhood curriculum through it: literacy, math, STEM, art, music, and social-emotional learning.
How do you measure progress?
Teachers continuously evaluate language acquisition, social-emotional growth, and academic readiness, and share progress with families through conferences and a daily communication app.
Will my child meet kindergarten benchmarks?
Yes. Our curriculum is designed to meet or exceed Minnesota kindergarten-readiness benchmarks, in both Spanish and English.

Why families choose AFA

Built for how young children actually learn

Low teacher-to-student ratios

About 10 students to 1 teacher on average, and as low as 5 to 1 in our youngest classes, so every child gets real attention and more language interaction.

Native Spanish-speaking teachers

Authentic pronunciation, rhythm, idiom, and culture from educators across the Spanish-speaking world, not textbook Spanish.

Transparent tuition

You know exactly what enrollment costs before you ever tour. No surprises and no pressure, with monthly options and sibling discounts.

Year-round, aligned to District 833

40 weeks of 90/10 Spanish immersion plus 12 weeks of summer STEM and language programming, on a calendar that fits Woodbury families.
